New United Club at MCI in 2023?
City of Kansas City finally passed the ordinance to build a new single terminal by 2023.
Interesting one of the amenities agreed to by Big 3 airlines (United, American, Delta) will be a cobranded Club.
Is this a new concept or is there others like this at smaller airports?

Then there is the concept at BOM, where airlines werent allowed to build their own lounges, and have to contract with the lounge owned by the airport authority (GVK in that case). This doesnt typically allow elites/*G to enter, and eligible pax are given passes at check in that the need to enter the lounge. This sounds more similar to what the OP describes, but still not a concept Ive seen in the US.

LEX (Lexington, KY) has -- or at least had as of my last flight through there a while back -- a club that was open to any club member for any of the airlines serving LEX. As far as I could tell it was managed by the airport and the club receptionist was also the receptionist for the airport admin offices (go left for club, go right for offices) -- nice quiet, comfortable place to pass some time when the minimal frills.

One of the airport committee meetings suggested it could be airline run. If it was, my bet would be that it was a SkyClub tbh. DL has a lot more service than UA at MCI.
If it is kept in the final plans, my guess is a third party concept to allow all pax access via membership, CC, etc.

Update: Delta requested 11K sq ft to build a Sky Club in December in the new Kansas City terminal. As Sky Club requires a Delta/Delta partner flight to access, even for paid members, it is a non event for any other frequent fliers. Still, 11K sq ft (approximately 105’x105’) seems really large for the market - by comparison, the United Club in Atlanta, for example, is 5000 square feet would seem the right size - the Boston United Club is 8000 sq ft, and t seem a lot for this market.
But since I have no lounge access today at MCI, I’m no worse off - and maybe if a Sky Club built, some kind of third party lounge (Centurion, Club At __, etc.) will arrive too. It would be great to have a quiet spot to catch up on emails etc., before or after a flight. Regardless I am looking forward to the new terminal next year and traveling more this year.

Any likelihood this could happen?
Flying to MCI today made me search for threads on the possibility of a UC at the new MCI terminal. Doesnt look like there is anything other than the Delta lounge in the works. Would love to see another option, particularly a UC! Any thoughts on likelihood?

From speaking to my UA friends, it appears the airport offered a chance for them to open a lounge, though UA declined the offer. Seems unlikely an AC will appear and so Id imagine the shelled space in Concourse A will become either an Escape or Priority Pass lounge.
