I'd flip that the other way. If i happened before they achieved 25,000 (prompting the turn-around), it very well could have been a bird strike.

Won't EU261 guarantee some compensation in this case?
EC261/2004 compensation has to be paid out by UA.
This is a technical problem.
Most technical problem are "unexpected", but not "extraordinary".

7,000+ hours in B757/B767. Same thing here, itís a fantastic airplane.
