I get 13.5 cPQM (effective total cost) for all my PNRs. At 10,000+ PQMs shy of Platinum this year, ~$1350 is a hard pill to swallow - even though I'll be way over on PQD.

I'm getting different offers depending on how long of a flight I'm booking, everything from 3,000 to 15,000 PQMs, and each offer has been at $0.10 cpm. $1500 for 15,000 PQMs is a big nut, but the MR I'm looking at is $1400 and immeasurable grief at home, plus confusion at work, seems no one but me wants me to spend 36 hours flying....

I am seeing vastly different quotes for premier qualification miles for different reservations. its much cheaper for a reservation I have for 2020. If I sign up for that one, will I get the mileage credit in 2019, which is when I need it? I only need a small number of miles to get above 100,000.

Yes, you will get it now.

I got the usual reservation confirmation which stated premier accelerator
Refund was for fare only (did not include premier accelerator)
I'll contact MP

Were you able to refund you ticket and get the PQM? I may have to do this for my last 2400 PQM

Yes the ticket refund worked fine.
After contacting MP and providing the PNR (cancelled), they credited the PQM.

Particularly egregious premier accelerator pricing - what’s going on?

Went to check into my flight today expecting to buy 6000 PQMs for $800ish and land a hair above 100,000 for the year, this earning 1K again, but to my surprise the pricing was $2250! I’ve never seen it so high - that’s .375 a mile!

what’s going on here?? I was counting on buying my way out of a mileage run but $2250 ain’t happening.

As the end of the year approaches, United will be in the driver’s seat.

Precisely. UA has been increasing the cost of Premier Accelerator miles in late December for years. That said, you may get a different offer on a different itinerary, so it may be worth your time to try a few dummy bookings and see what offers you et.

It was $850 just this Sunday on the first leg of this trip... should have bought it when it was available.

It has often gotten about 0.25 in previous years and at least 0.30 a few times in the past.
Expect it to bounce around as UA test the waters, it may get back below 0.30

in 2018 there was not as much a rise but in an earlier year

Welcome to FT. Always try to have everything booked and planned to make your status level by mid-November. Too many variables and uncertainties if you wait much past that point.

Would it make sense to buy a ticket and simply fly for the remaining 6,000 PQMs by NYE? You should be able to find something for less than .375 per mile, perhaps even a quick fun trip you want to take or some premium cabin enjoyment.
