Lounge in Papeete - access for Star Gold
Hello all, flew into PPT on Air NZ and we are flying out on United (separate ticket) to SFO. My partner and I are both Star Gold. Will we get access to the Star partner lounge in PPT airport? Have quite a long wait between ferry ride from Moorea and flight out. We are not in Polaris/business just Economy Plus. |
According to https://www.united.com/web/en-US/con...ations/bf.aspx, no - only Polaris customers have lounge access, not Star Gold.

It’s been YEARS since I flew out of PPT in economy, but last time I did (2012?) it was on NZ to AKL in Y, and I asked for, and received, a pass for the lounge including my wife and two children. It was a contact lounge and not very impressive. But better than no lounge! That was a long time ago but YMMV. |
The TN lounge is a Priority Pass lounge if UA won't give you passes based on *G.
I'm not sure the current *A rules on lounge access, there was a time not too long ago that I thought the airline was required to give *G (in Y) passes to contract lounges if they used one for their business passengers? Certainly at other locations flying Y at airports with contract lounges only, I've always had passes given. Maybe it's just a UA issue, which wouldn't surprise me. I do recall they don't give passes to the lounge at CUN even for C passengers, we had to enter that one on Priority Pass. |
