"Another problem has stymied construction of the new terminal for Louis Armstrong International Airport...

The new drainage system underneath the terminal has cracked in various places, “but most of the breaks have been fixed,” said spokeswoman Erin Burns. Workers discovered the multiple breaks in late May, finding 126 in all, Burns said. They have repaired 93 of them.
"The remaining repairs will be complete by the end of August," she said."

“.... completed by the end of August.”

Yeah, right! Just like the whole project was supposed to be finished before Mitch Landrieu left office.

The plan is MSY is next up but the airport is having construction delays. (That the locals are not surprized with that situation would be an understatement)

It could be worse.

Sure could use a UC IN CLT; would look nice in new Terminal A. It has always struck me as odd that UA does not have non-stop SFO/CLT service. After all, Wells Fargo has its HQ in SFO- with many United flyers- and thousands of employees in CLT. They could easily fill 4-5 flights a day. Head scratcher

According to AA station manager, tentative opening date for MSY is October 23rd. There is a drain line issue that is being repaired, and that job is over 80% complete. Construction close-out phase of the project is commencing, and airline tenants have already begun installing equipment.

With the "new" MSY set to open tomorrow (11/6), any word on if the UC will be ready for opening day?

On landing MSY last Thursday, UA gate agent's estimate of the MSY UC opening date was apx. 2/2020. Airport was preferring basic infrastructure and public space completion before "tenant capital projects" such as airline lounges.

Would be nice. I am in SAT this week and they have one here despite it being a much smaller airport.

Now that MSY is getting a UC, I believe TPA is the busiest domestic station without one.

Yeah I am not sure about UA ops specifically but TPA gets more traffic than MSY, both AA and DL have clubs at TPA.
