Probably get your GS revoked. Amex used to close accounts during the recession for shopping at Walmart.

Really, really bad things that then affect the balance of power in the multiverse....really, really bad....

And, no - no exceptions. _EVER_

Good luck to your GS friend. Wow.

It has been reported a GS can change (pay the extra fee) a BE fare to a regular less restrictive fare. This is the only GS exception, IIRC, that has been mention on FT.

But if they stay with the BE fare, they should expect the same as any other UA elite -- They can board as the normally do and can have a carry on bag BUT no advance seat assignment, no changing of seat assignments , no automatic access to E+

I do wonder which of the following is printed on the paper BP:

A. GLOBAL SERVICES
B. BASIC ECONOMY
C. GLOBAL SERVICES and BASIC ECONOMY superimposed over each other, making the line unreadable
D. GLOBAL SERVICES and BASIC ECONOMY next to each other, possibly overflowing other text on the boarding pass, or not fitting entirely on the BP
E. They print both and wrote special code to move one out of its usual place in this scenario.

Serious question btw.

UA's Machine Learning algorithm goes nuts and a "data scientist" gets to bill more hours to accommodate the "FT Effect" in their model.

My bet is they make it to their destination eventually assuming the flight isn't cancelled or diverted.
