This is a funny thread.....keeping it going...
1. Upgrade to first, but seat cushion removed.
2. Ok to pre-board, but must tie one leg to the leg of another GS who bought a BE ticket.
3. If IRROPS requiring overnight stay, UA will pay for a hotel room with a sleeping bag (no mattress).
4. May access the Polaris Lounge but must stay in the lobby, asking people who walk by to bring out some snacks.
5. FA may not address the passenger by name.

I do wonder which of the following is printed on the paper BP:
A. GLOBAL SERVICES
B. BASIC ECONOMY
C. GLOBAL SERVICES and BASIC ECONOMY superimposed over each other, making the line unreadable
D. GLOBAL SERVICES and BASIC ECONOMY next to each other, possibly overflowing other text on the boarding pass, or not fitting entirely on the BP
E. They print both and wrote special code to move one out of its usual place in this scenario.
Serious question btw.

What? Why on earth shouldn’t somebody buy a BE fare if the restrictions work for them? Is there some moral imperative to give UA more money than necessary for transportation?
BE irritates me, not because people who buy it are “cheap,” but because the restrictions are too Draconian to fit my needs. I’m upset every time I pay UA more than the lowest available fare without some tangible benefit.
