I just got gold status but my card says it expires 01/2019. I thought it was good for all of 2019. Could someone kindly clarify? I was also disappointed to find you dont actually get free complimentary upgrades on star alliance partner flights flying internationally...

I think the reference was for the short haul international, like going to Canada or Mexico where United CPUs can clear when flying United. Also some other close-by destinations like the Caribbean and Central America..

Hey folks - do Basic Economy fares earn 50% lifetime miles or 100% lifetime miles? Are the rules the same for domestic basic economy (which recently changed 0% PQM->50% PQM) and for international basic economy (which recently changed 100% PQM->50% PQM)?

Certain MileagePlus and Premier member benefits are not available
If you're a MileagePlus member, you will still earn award miles based on the fare and your MileagePlus status, as well as full Premier qualifying dollars, lifetime miles and toward the four-segment minimum. However, MileagePlus members will earn 50% Premier qualifying miles and 0.5 Premier qualifying segments, and they won't receive some benefits.

Using UA miles to upgrade TK ticket
hello! I am trying to get NYC-JRO via IST on TK using United Miles in Business but I only see upgrade space (J) available instead of business class (I) on EP. sorry for the newbie question but how/if would I go about using UA miles here to get a lie flat...Star Alliance loophole for upgrades possible! Thank you very much!

It would help if you could share the date range you'd prefer.
I'm a UA/Chase credit card holder and when I put in a mid April 2019, search on united.com, I got business saver availability via Ethiopian on the outbound and via TK on the return. But the TK availability was based on JRO to Chicago, with a connecting hop back to NYC. I think that the more strict your requirements are (city, date, carrier), the harder it may be to meet them in business saver. But we don't know the date range you're looking at.

Having strange behavior on my flights tomorrow when I try to checkin. When I try to checking via the app or website I get an error saying unable to complete and to proceed to airport for assistance. When I called service desk they told me that the airline had taken control of the flights and that there were no problems and that I had been checked in to my.
Is this a known issue that happens sometimes that others have experienced?
