The 3:21 PM was scheduled for 5:30. Then at 5 they pushed it to 6:36.

Edit: more delays. They are coming in quick now.

Ugh. I think my inbound aircraft will be only slightly delayed so need to head to airport just in case it gets pulled up. I was hopeful things were getting better but that was only a dream.

Wind is pretty crazy; looks like they're using 19R for departures.

I must have missed y’all in LAS this afternoon. I’m currently enroute to Seattle on DL. The AMEX Centurion Lounge wouldn’t let more people in due to overcrowding and I was wondering why but it seemed like a lot of people were waiting out delays to SF.

Heavies were using the 10s at some point this afternoon -- what was apparently a severely-delayed QF74 from yesterday went almost directly overhead my place in RWC from the sound of it (can't quite tell from the FlightAware/FR24 track)

The rain stopped, but the mess continues. Lots of go-arounds due to windshear. UA890 from PVG just went around. AS1810 landed on the 3rd attempt.

My mom was trying to fly to PHX today and had almost a 6-hour delay. Was surprised the crew didn't time out.

Even down on the Peninsula, the weather was about as ugly as it gets in the Bay. Windy and rainy all afternoon.

On top of JPM, there is also the National Championship game tomorrow. Looks like a little lull tomorrow and then more rain Tuesday/Wednesday. Fortunately I don't fly until Thursday

This morning (Sunday) departures were on 1R and 10L (the latter even for many narrow bodies like my A319), a rather unusual combo, at least for me. We actually got out with no delay, but as others have remarked the ground stops elsewhere for inbounds have made arrivals a horror show, and there will surely be a shortage of equipment for departures in late afternoon and evening. All in all a lousy day.

I was on UA2063 SFO-BWI yesterday (Sat) and took off 10L, which was a first time event for me and in and of itself would have been unusual. (I’ve now experienced taking off and landing from all 4 pairs of runways except landing on the 19s)

Anyway, from 0-10000 feet was the most unpleasant few minutes in an aircraft I’ve ever experienced. Strong winds buffeting the plane from all directions, changing rapidly. Like riding an invisible roller coaster. Almost no vibration typical of turbulence though. Just rapidly changing strong movements. Even the 1K next to me was looking out the window with concern. The most disconcerting part was the sound of the engines completely disappearing in certain winds and then coming back strongly in others. At around 30k ft, the captain came on and said it was a bumpy ride even for him, and remarked that many planes in the landing pattern just after us had to go around.

Crossing the bridge on the way to SFO in the car was a bit of a wind battle too. The winds in the bay are nuts right now.

UA finally allowing rebooking after my flight got a 5:45 hour delay. Just moved to Monday morning so I can not worry about it.

Just landed on a 777 from EWR. Captain warned of moderate turbulence but I'd give it a 2/10 at best -- was fairly smooth all the way in. About 3h30m late...

Given the reported wind, I wonder if departing on a heavy was a matter of parking at the end of 10R and waiting for a gap in the 25kt crosswinds to gun it and get out. Don't think a widebody can get off 19L with an overwater fuel load, although I've been in a 772 off of 1R that could get as far as IAD so I'm not sure.

Yeah, when I pulled up FR24 I saw BR7 and UA869 camped out there.

Random Googling led me here
