Systemwide AeroData delays again
I’m sitting on UA 5843 STL-DEN (12:50pm departure) and the Captain just announced a delay due to a systemwide AeroData outage preventing them from getting their takeoff clearance.
A heads up for those traveling this afternoon. Hopefully it can get back on line quickly.
Update: Delay getting the data ended up only being around 15 minutes. Supposed to take off within the next 10-15 min when ATC gives the go ahead.

Can anyone share more insight into what AeroData Inc. does and how they are so essential that they can be a single point of failure in the domestic commercial aviation system?
They have their official address a few blocks from my home so I'm tempted to go and do some social engineering, but based on both the address (shared offices) and their website (still using Flash) I'm pretty sure I won't find anyone there. Seems to be a company that keeps a very low-profile with probably just a few employees that are very well connected in the airline industry, and, according to public sources, are raking in millions of dollars every year. The kind of under-the-radar company that would loathe the attention that they got this month.

UA424 from IAD-SFO seems to have had a change of aircraft due to some environmental issue. Swapped out 787-8 for a 764 (I think). Anyway, swapped out the plane on my SFO-IAD flight to the 764 (instead of 787-8) and curious as to what the environmental issue was.

EWR-SFO on an sCO 772 delayed due to an ‘unexpected operational issue’. Went from 4 to 4:30, then to 5 with a plane switch...to one coming from PEK arriving at 4:45...at Terminal B. 
Once everyone has migrated, it quickly became 6PM. Methinks it gets pushed more...no way does that plane get emptied out, cleaned, and towed over to start boarding by 5:10.
Great way to start off vacation! And I had originally booked this specific flight to be on the 78J as well...sigh.
ETA: Now a 7:15PM departure. Grrrrr

Was waiting for my HA Honolulu-Maui flight yesterday afternoon and noticed UA's Honolulu-Albuquerque (???) flight was cancelled. Is some tech work done in New Mexico?
