I had to select later ORD-RIC flight for PZ availability on return.trip for FRA-ORD, earlier connection flight did not offer PZ at booking.
I called 1K desk after my outbound ORD-FRA cleared yesterday (no email notification), agent told me that there were 10 C seats left, and 4-5 on wait list ahead of my wife. Surprised to see email this morning that she has cleared and there were 8 C seats remaining and she was preassigned the last window seat on an old 777-200.
I had to select RIC-ORD-FRA-CDG to be able to have a fighting chance for TATL upgrade. IAD-CDG, EWR-CDG and ORD-CDG would have been nearly impossible even for 1K. As such, I had to select the earlier ORD-FRA flight with the best chance. Later ORD-FRA flight has been showing high C cabin occupancy.
