Yup just landed. Better late then never... I talked with one of the FAs for a bit during some downtime. Apparently they did actually time out and two FA's decided to get off with maintence but the rest stayed on so they could complete the flight.

I think they can waive union rules but not FAA rules, right?

17 FEB, UA881, ORD-NRT. Delayed 5:50. Arriving 6 hours late due to MX followed by an equipment swap to the inbound MUC-ORD aircraft.

Keeping my eyes on UA 860, GRU-IAD, for 2/19... as I'm on UA 762 IAD-IAH the next morning, scheduled departure right as our WX are supposed to deteriorate. No waiver yet and don't have a ton of schedule flexibility, so right now, I'm in "fingers crossed" mode that they (1) operate the GRU-IAD segment; and (2) quickly turn it around (scheduled to land @6:45am, departing @8:30am) and operate the IAD-IAH one. Not confident...

Tracking a frustrating situation. Flying SFO-FRA tomorrow on UA926. They equipment changed a 787-9 for a 787-10, but the inbound shows arriving at 8pm, even though the scheduled (on-time!) takeoff is 6:50pm. And United call center won't help change (even though it'll cause us a misconnect).. oh joy.

There may be another aircraft swap.

Looking at status of UA871 (SFO-TPE) and delay reason given is "problems with the airport's bag-screening equipment". What is that all about? Is it affecting other SFO flights?

CX gave a similar explanation for a delayed departure in December.

What would "scheduling issue" refer to? Crew timing out?

So for my recent adventure LHR-BGR-SFO they described "crew sickness" as a "scheduling issue". The issue was only two pilots were available which means they cannot fly to SFO and we had to divert to BGR to get an entire new crew. So I wonder if in Unitedspeak "scheduling issue" means "crew sickness" or similar crew issues.
