Who knows what the penalty was, but DL did not want this plane for some reason, and IIRC just a few years ago again rejected it in favor of A330 NEO.
DL and NW merged in 2008 and DL defered the order in 2010 but didn't officially cancel until 2016, by no means is that quick.

I think there is a typo on the fleet site. Under the 77W, plane number N2534U, it has the wrong configuration, should have Premium Economy setup.

I had colored the PE units and mistakenly colored N2534U by mistake. It has not received PE and verified by seat maps.

The rumor is the announced 737-MAX10 order will have a subfleet outfitted with flatbed J (16?) for Transcon Premium Service.

16J would be a significant downgrade from 28J now, especially considering UA is adding more J seats on the 763 and 319/20, with how premium the p.s. routes are (and full J is) I would find it hard to believe UA decreases seat counts in J.

Especially considering UA is selling out the J cabin on SFO-EWR a week or more in advance. And that's with three or four daily widebodies on the route (781, 77W, 77G).

Going 16J would be an AA-style revenue blunder of epic proportion.

True, but they also have been using a number of widebodies on the premium transcon routes to back-fill.

We can only go by the public comments from leadership, and in the most recent earnings call, we heard this from Andrew Nocella:

We are growing our premium cabins from New York to LA and San Francisco. It's really important for us.
That would suggest to me the plan is actually the opposite of reducing the size of premium cabins on EWR-LAX/SFO.

As far as configuration of a planned MAX10, I've heard rumors of a p.s. replacement configuration in addition to a standard domestic layout, but no word on cabin size for the premium variant. There's also speculation that the Thompson Vantage Solo direct aisle access herringbone seat (optimized for a narrowbody cross-section) will be used.

UAX Update

CR2:
The final ExpressJet deal shows only 16 CR2s being operated by EV instead of the original 20. All 16 already in service.
N857AS has transferred back to Skywest from ExpressJet (still flying for UAX)

ER4:
N847HK (2004 build) entered the UAX fleet with TransStates. Should be in new TSA livery. This should be the last AX ERJ addition.
