Empty EWR to NAS flight with high fares - will prices decrease?

there is
There is a flight in mid-August from Ewr to Nas and it's nearly empty yet the price is over $800 - do you think it will go down

Peak of hurricane season, 3 months from now, with volatile fuel prices?

I am fairly certain that the price will go down, only caveat is that the price may go up. And there is the off chance, the price may do nothing, and stay the same.

of course my prediction is tongue and cheek, there are too many variables to even venture a guess, and anyone that does is simply going with a coin toss.

set up a Google flight notification , if it goes down.... book it.

How do you know it's nearly empty? The seat map is not an indicator as the flight might have a large group heading to a cruise on it, for example, and they might not have chosen specific seats. If, however, the lowest fare buckets are each at 9, then that would be a better indicator.

If you can begin your trip on United from ABE or ZFV, you will likely find lower fares.

EWR-NAS Nov 6-10 2019

When searching for flights to NAS in November, the plane is empty but the lowest fare class is Q? Anyone know why the cheaper economy fare classes are not coming up?

Airline revenue management software now rarely releases deep discount inventory when booking windows open (T-330 days for United). Start checking back 3 months or so out, or set a Google Flights fare alert.

I believe the idea is "plenty of time to sell these seats for cheaper later".

These exact dates may never get much cheaper due to the annual NJ State Teacher's Convention. Most public schools in New Jersey will be closed on Nov. 7 and 8, 2019 so it is a popular long weekend to get away. Since the other 49 states don't have a similar schedule, you can find many resorts with good availability but cheap flights from NJ are scarce.
