Platinum Amex Fee credit... Is wifi reimbursed?

Realized that I have almost full $200 in United Airlines credits set to expire and flying before the end of the year

Wondering if the credit covers in flight wifi purchases

Kinda thinking to maybe treat fellow passengers to a free drink or meal As well?

Yes, the credit applies to WiFi. I have used most of my $200 2018 credit on UA WiFi purchases.

That's cool! The fine print of the Amex Plat T&C claims that wifi isn't eligible, but because it is billed not by the airline but by a third party... but UA bills its wifi itself, and even issues it a ticket # IME (I see a 016 # on my receipts for wifi, anyway).

I was dumb enough not to check to see if UA was an eligible airline and had mine still set to DL, which I didn't fly at all in 2018. Could have easily maxed out the $200 credit this year!

Wifi purchased on mainline is indeed eligible. Wifi on express or PS (gogo) isn't.

What does that mean? You subscribe to Wifi first and then cancel it?

Thanks for the tip!!! Per the site gifted subs may be deposited to TB.
What if I already have a United Wi-Fi subscription and then receive one as a gift? You can deposit the value of the gifted subscription into your United Travel Bank account as an electronic fund that can be applied toward any United or United Express flight or subscription purchase on united.com.
However, I just tried to buy one from my acct and deposit it and the site wouldn't let me. I wonder if it needs to be 2 separate accts? I'll try calling to see what's up.
