I was on a 737-900 or maybe 800 yesterday IAD_DEN and it was beat to hell. I haven't seen a cabin with that many scars and dings in a long time. Bins were small, the internet/ipad entertainment didn't work. My seat recline button had to just barely be touched to get recline going. Plus, the ridiculous number of people that stream on. I really wish they would get a 757 mid load point. I was not a fan of 757s- but I usually sat in back. Now I look forward to them if I have an F seat.
I thought these later/bigger 737s were newer?

With the final 3 class 763 looking like it’s heading to HKG in the imminent future for Polaris, what’s the new ghetto bird? The 3 class 772 in biz is an obvious nomination. But the Y class is now one of the better options still being 9 abreast. pmCO 772 is another showing its age but again has a reasonable Y class. Also- sticking to mainline only. Half the UAX fleet qualifies has ghetto bird.
So while they look brutal, it's about the trade-off. Are you more concerned about minor creature comforts like AVOD & USB, plus moving armrests, or are you ONLY concerned about how much padding is under your butt.
No matter how narrow the seats seem to get, my shoulders always kinda bump up against others, so the 3-3-3 of the 772 is nice, but the 3-4-3 wasn't as bad as people make it out to be on the 773 imo.

... first 739s delivered in 2001.
The 738 I flew on to Hawaii last week was battered to death, 2000 delivery with clearly no cabin refresh. That could easily be the new ghetto.

77G - and I'm stuck w/ it out of Hawaii a lot of times. The worst lie-flat option out of Hawaii and the worst coach option out of Hawaii.
For Europeans, there is a way to tolerate it in F to Hawaii - take first LHR-SFO flight of day, eat fine meal at SFO Polaris lounge, and then try to sleep thru the miserable experience to HNL. It's better to be asleep or dead on than plane than be awake (in either cabin).

For a daytime flight, I'd almost rather be in 1A on the 753. At least there are places to put your stuff.

sCO 764 is the E175 of the mainline fleet IMO.

77G for sure. The absolute worst in each and every class. But all the other choices are about evenly bad if you have to fly in the back of the bus. Including those which are not on the list. I would, however, not include the 763 ( or any other 767 configuration ) in the list. They are surprisingly the current "darlings" in the system for me.
