Isn't IAD getting a whole 787 base there?

My bet is on something based around IAD

Yes, they do have pilot base in IAD.

I'm on board with the JNB. I initially discounted it with SAA, but I think IAD or EWR to JNB is the way to go. It's historic (never flown to South Africa), and it can drive lots of volume. For anyone that wonders about JNB, look at the Europe to JNB traffic, there are many high volume routes. JNB represents the hub of the lower half of Africa. Only one domestic carrier to fight with, DL.

ORD to PER is nearly 11,000 miles. There's no commercial plane on the market with the range.
The new BBJ 777X, while not configured as a passenger airliner, would get you there.

Something tells me UA would want more than a W fare plus a GPU to get into the BBJ.

If UA really means “historic” then that sets high expectations. Like 747 retirement revenue flight level.

Nelson Mandela would have been 100 this year (nod to historic). I am starting to think JNB is it. From IAD.

Any new Longhail INTL route would be welcome. SFO-BKK/India being my top wish.

Reading the press release you can interpret it to be Oscar will be summarizing all the new active and already announced adds, as sort of a capstone speech to close out 2018.

And there is no hint hint wink wink action on their twitter feed.

So it could be a nothing burger.

How about the Ohio Heritage Shuttle - it goes CVG-CMH-CLE to Dub, Muc, Zag, and TVL.

Seriously though a flight to JNB would be awesome saying I have to make about 4 trips there next year.

Wouldnt be shocked if additional Polaris lounges were announced, including an IAH-sized one at Denver and a LAX-sized one in Honolulu (yes, HNL) along with official roll outs at NRT, HKG, and LHR.

BKK and SGN I am guessing. And the DXB-BAH two step. Or the post was just random griping.

I'm expecting an ORD-MDW. Transferring at Clark & Lake is too much of a pain for getting to the southwest neighborhoods/suburbs.
