United teasing DEN-FRA on Social Media [Year-Round 787-8 Confirmed, Starts 5/2/19]

Another anagram-style teaser on the various social media outlets. An announcement seems imminent. This would confirm rumors about a new DEN TATL route (technically a resumption after a decade plus) and, to me, makes the most sense as FRA is the biggest *A European hub and already has an established DEN service.

I am guessing it will be summer-seasonal, daily 787-8 service, with an early afternoon eastbound departure and a late morning westbound, to connect with established LH banks and not conflict with the longstanding LH flight, which is evening eastbound and early afternoon westbound.

We shall see..

Ooh - that should reduce EWR Polaris crowd a little bit.

Hopefully, "seasonal" means thru Oktoberfest (which is mostly in September)....

Definitely DEN-FRA. No ‘W’ (so no IAD or EWR). No ‘c’, so no SFO or ORD. No ‘h’ means no IAH, and no ‘L’ means no LAX. Leaves DEN as only hub.

Interesting since LH already does DEN-FRA so hoping it’s just an increase in frequency

https://thepointsguy.com/news/united...-to-frankfurt/
  • UA182 Denver (DEN) 3:40pm Departure ⇒ Frankfurt (FRA) 9:20am (+1) Arrival
  • UA181 Frankfurt (FRA) 11:05am Departure ⇒ Denver (DEN) 1:20pm Arrival
On a 787 starting 5/2/19 according to that link

It's already bookable. Checked some random dates, but haven't run into any PZ...

"Seasonal" ends DEN-FRA Saturday September 28th "Subject to receipt of government operating authority DEN to FRA UA182"

Sounds about right. Have it for all the summer travelers and Oktoberfest travelers. I think this route will do well.

Summertime daily reportedly drops to 5x weekly after September, but the press release doesn't go into specifics other than noting it will be year-round service.

If you don’t go via EWR, though, you miss both the Polaris lounge and the new seats on the 78X.

788, any idea where they're taking it from?

The S19 schedule is far from finalized, but right now, SFO-KIX/CTU/PPT/ZRH, DEN-LHR/NRT/FRA, IAD-LHR/PEK/ZRH are showing 788, plus some domestic. I think that schedule would work with 13 frames.

Stoked for this. Booking Colorado to Kigali next Sept and hoping can do this in C for a reasonable price with a good connection. Much prefer to do one long flight than 3 hrs to IAD and a “short” overnight to BRU.

It's interesting that there's no mention of Lufthansa in the PR.
