Using Miles for anothers ticket

Could not find info on the forum. Three calls to UAL and could not get good enough connection to understand the answer.
Planning to by ticket for someone else using my miles.
With business or first booking appears they get one bag free.
Found where I add their info to my account. Do not see where to add their email address just their cell number.
Question: Once I make the booking how do they receive confirmation info and then get boarding pass when available?
Thanks

In my experience you need to provide the boarding pass if they don't have a United Mileage Plus account. If they do have a MP account, just put their MP number in, and they will see and get everything. If they don't, they could create a MP account.

Once the booking is made and confirmed you can click on "Share itinerary" on the TRIP DETAILS page.

"E-mail Summary
Please enter the e-mail address below to send an e-mail summary of your itinerary. All of the information in the summary below will be included in the emailEmail Address(es):
To enter multiple addresses, separate each address with a semicolon."

They can simply check in at the airport. A piece of ID and their flight # is all they need.
