Problem applying RPU for another person?

Problem applying RPU for another person?

I used to be able to upgrade my family/friends trips by using a RPU on united.com, however can't see the option anymore online
Can we still do it or is it just for personal trips now?

I just did this last night.
All you need their last name and record locator / confirmation number that’s all.

Does this process not work any more?

1. You're logged in as yourself.

2. Find the reservation using the last name and record locator as Dublik_rfk mentioned.

3. Save reservation to your account to track the upgrade status.

4. Upgrade button should be available when you look at their reservation....

That's what I used to do all the time, but now when I pull up their reservation the option is just not there anymore
I wonder what I'm doing wrong

It has not happened to me but sounds similar to your situation.

In any case, if you call it should be fine.

Possibly Basic Economy fare, which is not upgradable.

or the date of the flight is after the expiration of the RPU?

Try calling if the flight/ticket is RPU eligible and before Jan 31, 2019

I have had the same problem with a GPU. Called in and they applied it. Just the usual broken united.com

I just used 4 RPUs to upgrade a friend and her family PVR-SFO for Thanksgiving. Not sure if it cleared into PN or PZ. Seamless online as usual.

You should be able to see it as when my wife gave me her RPUs my reservation appeared in her account until I took that trip. Or was that something that was not supposed to happen?

Oh, I’m sure I can see it if I looked up the reservation. I just mean I didn’t look for it in case someone is wondering if there’s a difference in the experience because of PN vs PZ.
