Dare I say, this may very well be worth the wait!
Going to be among -- if not THE -- nicest clubs in the entire system.
Now one can hope they get this open, close the C74 club for some much-needed renovation and bring it back online quickly.
If only we could get something in C2 .... that's the sticky widget. Ever since Polaris went in, flights out of C2 are a grind.

Agree re: C-2. The old Presidents Club space is occupied by the UAL credit union and that lounge was pretty small to begin with, back when it existed ~20 years ago.
If they do anything with the C-1 club, I pray it includes about 4x the restroom space. The current bathrooms are tiny and totally inadequate for the use that club receives. They get pretty skeevy in the afternoons despite best efforts to keep them clean. The new public bathrooms downstairs in the concourse, right across the hall (by gate 90), are much nicer.
Pre-COVID, I had cautious optimism about the return of showers... time will tell. I'm not expecting them but I hold out some hope for a change in strategy.

Anyone expecting UA t
bring back showers to the United Club is dreaming. Showers are clearly part of the Polaris product at this point -- despite the fact that Polaris clubs are temporarily unavailable.

This was relayed in 2019 or so, and I have no idea where things stand now.

Pre-Covid, that pivot (adding showers to key United clubs) was a serious discussion, and I was told it was in the plans for EWR. Driven by the fact that despite United’s position, showers remain a part of the core SkyClub and Admirals Club product at hubs, and branded third party lounges (Amex, primarily).

As were free premium drinks, free WSJ/FT/USAToday/local paper, access without needing to fly that day...oh I miss the PC.

The entire space could definitely use some re-thinking/reconfiguration though. I think a root cause may be that the club was designed in a different era when visits were more transitory/shorter...

The C74 lounge was a relatively high-end experience in the late 80's / early 90's but it had a fraction of the traffic it has today. There was a TV room, meeting rooms and luggage room (no showers). There was a second entrance that was inconsistently open but, also inconsistently, had an extra agent or two even when the door wasn't open. I never liked the restroom plan after they had to meet ADA requirements and am quite surprised this layout still exists, I don't think it would be that big a project to turn the luggage room into a restroom and combine the Men's and Women's rooms into a better facility.

While I would absolutely love it if there were an outdoor space in the new C-3 UC under construction, I'm not seeing anywhere in the picture posted above where it could possible be... Anyone else have an idea?

Construction plans?
So isn’t it theoretically possible to find the construction plans/drawings for the new C3 UC in the Newark planning board info? Who knows how to ferret this info out ?

Hey all, does anyone know if the new UA club in the C100s will be done anytime soon? I'll be swinging through in December and would hope to see another large lounge to relieve some pressure off the overcrowded C74.

I have not heard of any new clubs in the C2 concourse area. This possibility has been discussed before, but I concluded it was only speculation. Where did you see that this might be happening? The only real room to put one there would be up or down, the concourse level is basically full.
There were President's Clubs there in the past: one by gate 102 (now an office of some sort) and, very briefly, one by gate 110 (which became an Air France lounge for a bit). I don't think these spaces are currently available and they were rather small when they were used as clubs.
