Earning MileagePlus on LH fare

I just saw some fares for SFO-FCO booked via LH site ($300 all in). The fares book into K and I see that earns 0 PQM on MileagePlus. There are flight options for both the in/outbound segments at SFO to be UA metal. Will I get PQM on those?

LH K fares earn 100% PQM on MileagePlus. This changed in March.

Oh, that's great!

Follow up question: even though this is an LH itinerary, will I be able to SDC the return leg if it's operated by UA? I'm not sure how many flights UA has, this may not be feasible at all, but thought I would double check.

If on LH 220 ticket stock, no -- SDC is only on 016 UA ticket stock

In general, you cannot SDC on a ticket issued by another airline. The SDC process requires* reissuing the ticket, which UA can't do if they didn't issue it in the first place.

The SDC thread has a really nice wiki about what's permissible, what's permissible with a willing agent, and what's not possible.
