UA326 RTO at IAD, other a/c crossing rwy, ATC error
Major incident potentially averted? https://wtop.com/virginia/2018/09/un...ane-on-runway/
Not sure how how far down the runway the crossing taxiways were if UA326 would've rotated prior to that given that it is a 737 but what a rudimentary mistake for ATC to make, article contains embedded Youtube Video of ATC with subtitles, haven't seen it posted here, just did a brief check on the UA forum and did a search, if it has please merge/close.

Dulles can get away with a ton because the runways are like ridiculously long, but you never know, what if they had to abort for real prior to reaching takeoff speed and lost brakes or engine or something and had to use the runway up?
Too many what ifs to even think about and the controller let another airplane on the runway and gave permission for a second airplane to cross

Distracted controller? Soon after clearing UA326 for takeoff, the instructions, which included crossing 19C, for AA2784 seemed a bit garbled.
Before the second takeoff attempt for UA326, the pilot said they had some things they needed to redo. What would that entail?

Recalculate reference speeds due to adjusted take off weight because of fuel burn, wait for brake temps to cool off, and possibly their V1 speed would change due to reduced braking ability with hot brakes
