Mile Play Promotion (9/2018)
I didn't see anything posted on this yet but United is displaying a link to the Mile Play promotion which lasts until October 31, 2018.
United Mile Play Promotion
For me, I was offered 15,000 miles if I fly in the premium cabin 4 times. (there is a caveat that the cost must be $1,200 or more)

My wife: 1 trip @$350 for 15K miles
Me: 5 premium cabin trips @$950 for 30K miles.
I continue not to understand UA's marketing department, considering that last year I had just over $12K PQD total; I'm not the least bit motivated to try to get nearly 40% of that number in the next six weeks.

I came to this thread knowing full well I wouldn't be eligible. I never am.
WAIT!!!
I checked and lo and behold, I AM ELIGIBLE!!!
"Book and take a trip in a premium cabin 2 times by October 31, 2018 to get 100,000 bonus award miles."
That's pretty impressive, except I have all travel booked until end of the year. Do I now cancel those trips and re-book them to be part of this promotion???

its interesting as I am constantly booking expensive tickets-- but they want me to wait and book and take them within a 45 day window. I book further out than that so I never get these. I WILL take 3 premium cabin segments in the next 45 days-- I'll actually take 7 but not get any bonus points for them.
4 of those trips will also max out the 75k rewards points.

Makes one wonder how "clever" their algorithm really is.
Almost appears that they make everyone eligible who has all their travel already booked, i.e. unlikely to be able to take advantage of the promotion, and at the same time make all who could take advantage of the promotion not eligible.
Hmm...

United must really miss me:
"Book and take a trip 1 time by October 31, 2016 to get 10,000 bonus award miles."
*Minimum fare is $250 to qualify.

I only have a single one-way flight this year, and frankly as a Million-Miler who is 225,000 miles away from lifetime Platinum, I don't go out of my way to utilize UA. Like many of us I have become fairly airline agnostic, and try to minimize United connecting flights if non-stops are available on AA or DL. Yet this is attractive enough to change my behavior before the end of October. I am eyeing a RT that will cost $275. Nice ROI.
