1.5x PQM for P fare?

I have a flight RDU-TPE coming up booked in P. UA says I'll get 2x here

https://www.united.com/ual/en/us/fly...es/united.html

which happens on the outbound Dec 27. On the return Jan 2, ua.com says I'm only getting 1.5x.

Have I missed a memo or is this an error. I looked at other fares for 2019 and am getting inconsistent results on international P fares.

Are you sure, you're not looking at the 1.5 PQS? Would hate to see the 2x PQMs on P fares go away!

I just did a quick search EWR-MAN roundtrip, outbound Dec 29, return Jan 5. P Fare both directions. Outbound: 6708 PQM (3354*2), return 5031 (3354*1.5)

When I booked the flight I was seeing 2x in both directions. Not flyer friendly.

Hope it's just a glitch and not another 'enhancement'

Be sure to save the eTicket email with the 2x PQMs so you can request the miles if they don't credit correctly!

For Air Canada, P fare gets 1.5 x distance PQM. Perhaps, United will match Air Canada starting January 1, 2019.

What do you mean "ua.com"? You mean the online reservation? When I search flights post Jan. 1, P fares show 200% PQM accrual.

That's irrelevant. United can change earnings at any time, even for already ticketed itineraries. They regularly do that when partner earnings change.

I found some international P fares at 150% PQM and others at 200%. All the domestic P fares I checked were at 200% PQM. Seems very inconsistent but maybe there's a rationale I'm not aware of. Or it could be an IT mistake.

I'm hoping it's UA IT and not Kirby. I need to do RDU-IAH in March and P fares are at 1.5x.

Couple more data points for those interested:

LAX to NRT for this year:

LAX to NRT for next year:

LAX to SFO this year:

LAX to SFO for next year:

Hopefully this is an aberration and not the return of the Ghost of Smisek. That being said, it's good to know that UA is committed to rewarding their frequent flyers who regularly purchase G fares and not merely the FoTSG who purchase P tickets every now and then to earn Silver!

Safe Travels,

James

Given that my travel pattern last year was 36% P fares. I certainly hope this isn't an upcoming change.

My P fare today ORD > IAH is still showing 2x PQM 1.5x PQS at least.

wow, that would suck. I already have P fares booked for next year ... I really want to see them honor that, frankly. This can't just be a glitch ... it is a change that someone decided to program. Hope someone from UA will clarify this very soon.

It's odd. when I search SFO-SIN or SFO-FRA in 2019, it displays 2x for P fare. But I have an existing reservation SFO-SIN and it shows 1.5x when I view the reservation.

Actually, I just tried with a "fresh" browser window in incognito mode and even the search gives 1.5x. Must be a recent update to the site.

What makes this even more interesting is that on the SFO-FRA route the UA metal flight shows 1.5x, while LH metal shows 2x.
