Something is definitely up, I was looking at SFO-LHR/FRA/LIS/etc. and I don't see P class fares filed all of a sudden, only Z.

I had no problems getting PNC12S (e.g.) to come up on SFO-LHR; Nov. 20 departure, Dec. 24 return, $3383.91 all-in on United.com.

The current P fares aren't applicable between 7/8 and 8/30, inclusive.

It looks like they filed a few additional fares in late August that were good during the summer and were set to expire EOD Monday, so that's why you're not seeing them now.

I earned 2x PQM EWR-BCN and vv in late August.

On my ticket receipt for a D class round trip EWR to AMS in OCT, I am getting 2x pqms RT as well. Gonna hit 100K PQM soon but need to work on GS spend.

After a cursory look seems like P fares expired and maybe not offered close to travel. OCT is busy.generally.

Adam

Just noted I am going to hit 75,000 RDM cap to Amsterdam.

Not meaningful. Fares, especially discount fares, come and go all the time.

There are definitely some weird things going on with fares lately.

I am consistently seeing P/C/D fares only in some domestic markets lately and this is 1-3 weeks out. What's strange about it though is that the C fare may only be $5-$10 more than the P.

Just booked my flight to SYD for tomorrow and the eTicket and Receipt shows I'm getting 1.5 PQS per segment, 17192 PQM for the IAH-SYD segment (and same on return) on P fares. Same legs in coach got me 8596 back in Feb.

Changes to P Fare PQM Multiplier?

There may be some bad news on the horizon for those of us who buy P fares.

I booked a bunch of 1-ways between January and April 2019 on Tuesday. At the time, PQM/PQS/PQD showed as the standard earnings rates and multipliers. I checked my receipts to verify this.

When I tried to book another P fare today for May 2019, the PQM multiplier for P fares has changed from 2x to 1.5x.

I then looked at 2018 fares and other 2019 fares and I noted with great interest that 2018 fares all still show the 2x multiplier and all 2019 fares show the 1.5x multiplier now.

I am now on the phone with UA to try to find out whether they have made changes to their system prior to announcing changes in earnings rates, or if this is a website glitch/error.

The secondary question I have for them is whether the PQM conditions at time of booking are honored or if this is determined at the time of travel.

Either way, given the switch of earnings rates in the system from 2018 to 2019, I suspect there is a good chance this is intentional and not a website error.

Update: As of 9am CT, UA MP and 1k desk do not have awareness of a policy change in EQM earnings rates for specific fare classes, but they allowed for the possibility that system changes could have been implemented before notifying them.

There's already a long thread on this topic. 1.5x PQM for P fare?

UA is not going to change the earnings rate without disclosure on the website.
