Direct TV back on New planes (737 Max9)?

Saw this on a booking, direct TV on a 737 Max9, wondering is true or an error on the web site?

Wonderful news if true. I have had such bad luck with the entertainment on the app.

The only entertainment I think has worked well is seat-back AVOD but sure why not continue to make the product a total crapshoot. Directv, avod, pde that never seems to get updated with new tv shows only movies... *sigh*

That seems unlikely and the equipment description seems to show no DirecTV: https://www.united.com/web/en-US/con...efault.aspx#v3

Is the flight in the new few days? Its possible you are getting a swap.

I did a test booking for IAH-LAX 7/23 UA1169 and it does not show DirectTV

I doubt it - I believe they’re trying to wind down the directv contract as much as they can - but would certainly welcome it. I much prefer live TV to any prerecorded AVOD.

Would be nice if they could do streaming of some of the directv channels via PDE. Best of all worlds. Sports especially would be most welcome.

I don't know about "seating scrum" But they certainly have magically shrinking Y seats on their fleets.
