When does elite status change, if lower. for the coming year?
Midnight (local time) 31 Jan 20xx
(website/mobile app resets Midnight Central USA / Chicago / Houston time)

If status, due to achieving a higher status, is high, the change should update quickly -- once the miles/PQMs post or reason for new higher status is processed.

Note to earn a status level (if not due to MMer companion status or a matched / challenge status), you need to meet all the required elements for the status level in a calendar year unless you are exempt / waived from a requirement
- PQMs
- PQDs
- 4 UA operated flight segments

Earn Silver / Gold / Plat / 1K this year, how long will it last?
If you earn a status level (not a challenge), it is good for the remainder of the year you earned it plus the full next calendar year plus January of the next year. So a minimum of 13 months up to 24 months. Example if you earn a new status in Aug of YYYY you will have at least the status until January YYYY+2

The app / card / website shows my status expiration as Jan XXXX but I thought it was Jan XXXX+1?
This is standard, the shown expirations date is always for the next January, it will be updated at the end of that January to the next year's January (if appropriate)

I have been 1K for 10 years and only requalified for plat in 2016. Today I noticed my status is plat - that's not what I expected until Feb 1.

Not aware of any change.

Which page on the website?

mystatus.united.com shows what you did in 2016 and would report the lower status.

Log out, close all the browser windows, log back on -- what is the badge shown in the account window tile?

Thanks WCUA - No problem with post deletion. Other thread was on topic at the time but subsequent posts made my question harder to see, so I searched and found this thread.

Not sure what you mean by "Not aware of any change". Are you saying that my status should change (lower) as of Jan 1 - even though my card says Jan 31?

My home page says Premier Platinum and "My Account" page has a PP badge.

I just called MP svc center and the agent told me that my status changes as of Jan 1.

That would be a new policy if widely true.

My gut tells me this is a website glitch. UA needs the month of January to clean up flight postings and last minute status changes. And GS notifications aren't handled until mid-month.

I don't get it - why would that have anything to do with rushing my LOWER status?

And meanwhile I can't confirm an M-fare into F with PN bucket >1.

I think UA has it out for me.

Or the print MP Card on the website?

Mine are both still saying January 31, 2017.

My app only says through Jan 2017, but the website says Jan 31, 2017.

Funny enough there's all this language on the website that indicates that it's valid through the "end of the Program Year" but I can't find anywhere where they actually define the Program Year, though they clearly distinguish the language for calendar year for qualifying.

Welll..I'd suggest calling the 1K desk but they may not let you through

Maybe try emailing 1Kvoice?

I noticed that as well. Not defined in the T&C either. Was it previously?

What about your electronic "card" on the App?

edited: never mind, I see it says "thru 1/2017" rather than a specific date
