Looks like the flight engineer accidentally raised the landing gear instead of the flaps...

That's a good question. It seems to have pretty frequent maintenance delays, at least according to the United website (back to the point where the "where is this flight coming from link" breaks, a couple of days back. Those lead to "delayed inbound aircraft" delays downline and there's the occasional "operational reasons" delay thrown in for good measure. I hope they get the kinks worked out; all of these MAX birds have pretty heavy schedules.
As you can see, UA is reusing registration numbers,
Indeed, the 62 in that NTSB investigation number is the year; this was 56 years ago. FYI: I don't think there's been a United flight with a flight engineer in at least 20 years, and probably longer. And I'd be shocked if a 737 MAX allowed the gear to be retracted while on the ground.

I've followed WN's new MAX, and the inaugural flight that was supposed to recreate the famous DAL-HOU-SAT-DAL broke down in HOU with CEO on board and had to finish with a legacy 737
There were numerous flight delays (I know because I wanted to take pictures) and full B38M fleet didn't fly for MONTHS .....
Sounds like teething pains @:-)

I’d rather fly the DC6!
like the man said. . .
Maintneance, operational, ATC, weather, ect. I really don’t care what the standing excuse is! If I can look back over there + days and see it hasn’t been on time it must be obvious! I know that the CLE facility is working on CFM engine issues but, Pull the thing out of rotation and fluging fix it!
