I think you mean "Rebook by June 21, 2018" in your post (not June 15).

We had two beautiful sunny hot summer days in Chicago, clearly not the kind of weather associated with storms and cancellations.

Weather.com shows storms beginning about 4pm today and going through Tuesday night. The 17th, I can't explain.

Still not seeing how yesterday and today have severe weather with any degree of certainty that justifies preemptive cancellations or weather waivers. Im all for free schedule changes during unstable WX, but almost looks like theyre scheduling a bunch of Cessna 150s!

It's not just the airport (or city) that's the worry. If airway routes in/out of the terminal area are impacted -- even hundreds of miles out, it can have a huge impact.
