UA selling (miles) preview access to EWR Polaris Lounge June 1st

Similar to SFO opening, looks like MileagePlus exclusives is selling tickets for preview of the EWR lounge on 6/1 for 2500 miles

Just got the same email. Itís only 2500 Miles, but no. I wonít spend that out of principle. If a 1K with $30k+ annual spend doesnít deserve an invite gratis, Iím not interested in paying for the privilege.

Yeah...there is no reason this should not be free, same as other EWR/NYC MP / Polaris events there have been. Reeks of Kirbyism. Will wait to see it when I can use it on my flight to GVA in August.

... exactly. I was invited to the Polaris launch in NYC with Oscar (which sadly I was on the road for and couldn't attend!) -- and now they want me to pay to view the lounge?

This is the kind of silliness that has to stop. I don't ask for much; I'm probably a pretty profitable 1K all things considered... but this just feels petty.

UA selling preview access to EWR Polaris Lounge June 1st

Received email inviting me to preview the new EWR lounge June 1st. Then noticed they're charging 2500 RDM's for the privilege. You pick a 2 hour window between 8:00am and 7:00pm (4:00-7:00pm is sold out already).

Anyone bite at this offer?

Went to the SFO one. While a cool opportunity, it's nothing is go out of my way for.

I firmly believe that United would sell their grandmother if they thought they could make a buck.... Fortunately I don't get these invites, I am just a scum Silver who has been Elite/Premier for going on 30 years..... but I will get to see the new lounge in October when we head to FCO

Somewhat related...

I received an invitation to an event in Denver next month. Same thing: 2,500 miles to meet United execs. No thanks.

Darn, I've got an 8 hour layover in EWR on May 31st.

Paying to preview the lounge > Sitting in GenPop > Sitting in the overcrowded mess that is all the other clubs at EWR.
