Super Cheap Hong Kong flights
 

Just saw that I can get RT IAH to HKG for $775! That's 19000 PQMs at about four cents each. That seems to be a really good deal and easier than a multi leg mileage run. I already own an international E+ subscription so there's no extra cost there. Can't quite justify jumping from $775 to over $9k for Biz class.

Are there other long haul deals like this?

Singapore, Hong Kong and India always seem to be relatively inexpensive locations to travel to on a CPM basis in Y. Also LHR in Y during the low season is not too bad too, but not as great as the fares to SE Asia IMO.

I've seen good prices RT for LAX/SFO-SIN that around $700-800.

Asia in Y has been $300 to $600 for quite a while now. LAX-SIN in particular has bounced between $3xx and $5xx r/t.

The $515 LAX-SIN lasted about 3 weeks. Even W was not too bad, and there was R space :D

I would have rather done $565 SFO, but there was no R space :(

Well LAX-SIN is a bit longer, so you can enjoy the J seat for longer. :D

J seat for $515 RT?? Hard to believe.

No, that was probably for a K fare. I think W, which allows GPU to J, is / would have been around 1200 RT.

I'm booked IAD-HKG RT, overnight return, K/F fare for about $692

It turned out to be a BULK fare, but if it gets me PQM, it'll put me over the threshold for Gold.

If not, I guess I'll be able to enjoy a night in Hong Kong, and wind down before finals begin :p

The $515 LAX/SIN fare is still going. You could book LAX-SIN-LAX departing tonight and returning on Wednesday for $515 and still probably get a whole row of E+ to yourself on both flights... Books into G class.

K/F fare? As in Polaris First on the return? :eek:

Yeah, $800 is not too bad for US to Asia. Similar fares are usually available on AA and permit SWU upgrades from any fare class (nice for an ExPlat).

My go-to flight for "maximizing PQM or lifetime BIS" is BOS-PVG at about $525 r/t. For some reason the East Coast to China market has had fares like this available for a couple of years now, booking into "K" and generally with good last-minute inventory. With enough free time you can book 1MM BIS for about $30k.
