Will do. I’ve never worried about getting the mattress pad, and this will be my first experience with the pajamas.

I was on UA879 LHR-IAH on July 4th and there were Gel Pillows on all seats when we boarded.

Also confirmed on UA38, SIN->LAX, earlier this week. I had never tried one before and thought it was a nice surprise. But admittedly at some point i was just annoyed I had another thing in my seat area to manage. It would fall down, no place to stash it etc. Yes a serious bummer I know. I'm going SFO->SYD tomorrow so maybe another try will be better.

UA2, SFO->SIN the previous week did not have it. If that data point helps.

I love how the lesson to be learned in United business class is to be as subservient as possible.

Just finished a RT this week EWR-MAD and had the gel pillow on the seat in both directions.

I guess it is not relevant now, but I got burned once when they ran out after takeoff. So after that I always asked for the gel pillow as soon as I was seated. Never had a problem after that. There is never a convenient time so no reason to wait.

Gel pillow and slippers at my seat yesterday SFO-LHR. They also did not ask me for my second choice for lunch ^

Maybe now there should only be reports if the gel pillow is not on every seat at boarding.

Newbie Polaris etiquette

So please guide me as I am taking my first Polaris flight next week:

- when it it recommended that I ask for pajamas so I don't anger the FA?
- do I need to (or should I) ask for anything else? I think the gel pillow is now provided - is there still a mattress pad that can be requested?
- since I pre-ordered a Japanese meal, should I let them know this or wait for the FA to take the order and confirm it then?
- will they do a wine flight for me or is this going to make them angry?
- what's the best red they are serving these days?
- when do I get my Polaris bear? (wishful thinking ., . .)

Thanks.

lol only on United are flyers so scared about angering the people supposedly there to take care of them...

To answer your questions:

PJ’s - if your flight has them ask immediately after boarding - same for mattress pad
Meal - when they come to take your order during boarding
Wine flights seem to be gone but they will poor a small glass if you ask to try
Best red - LOL who knows every flight is different - my last flight home from England the two carts on either side of me had totally different wines - and none matched the useless menu....
AFAIK the bears are long gone.....
