In my case, it's because the United app is so bloated I had to uninstall it.

The photo being shown on the home page above is now the photo that loads on the mobile app upon opening it. The mobile app on iPhone just updated today.

There are still many functions only available on the website, and not in-app. Past/cancelled reservations, for one. Complex itineraries, for another. Sorting and searching flights I find easier on the website.

If thereís been a change to the itinerary (ie flight change, time change etc) - I canít see that in the app,
only on the website.

Things like that. Some of the more edge cases, but still necessary.

I donít mean any of that to say I donít adore Unitedís app. Itís - by far - best of breed. But still some things are better or only doable on the web.

Thanks - I saw that. Chrome doesn't want to let me change the User Agent string very easily (root phone & install software), and having to change it every time means I'll never d it a second time so I'll just forget about the first. Why UA would limit this to only new iphones is beyond me.

If you've ever done configuration testing, you'd know.

@Xyzzy, maybe they are doing some a/b testing to see how people like it and then will be rolled out for everyone

The user agent stuff is for desktop chrome

Didn't have to do any useragent changes on mobile chrome, just accessed the link and it worked

Can only book for adults - I tried adding a child to the reservation search. Drop down does not go beyond Adults (18-64). Sigh!

I'm currently updating to iOS 11.3, so maybe that will help?

I got it on an iPhone 8.

And yes, typical to launch on specific clients first, then roll out to everything later.
