May 2018 Mile Play promo -- targeted book/travel X trips by 13 May, get Y miles, ....

Received new email offer today: "Book and take a trip in a premium cabin 2 times by May 13, 2018 to get 55,000 bonus award miles." Each trip must be a min of $700. All travel for Trip must be in Business or First class (fare classes: A, C, D, F, J, P and Z).

Offer back in January was measly compared to this one...and did not complete - take 1 premium cabin trip and get 6,800 bonus award miles (over $600).

I'm guessing a moderator will move this to a new thread, but my offer for this latest promotion is "Book and take a trip 1 time by May 13, 2018 to get 8,600 bonus award miles." Minimum fare is $275. I didn't get an email about it (yet), but just went to the website to see if I was eligible. I'm not sure I'll complete this one...

My March offer: 4 premium trips >$350 = 26,000 (which I completed, with incremental spend ~$350).
My May offer: 4 premium trips >$700 = 8,400! I won't be pursuing this one...

I got:

- Book and Take a Flight in a Premium Cabin: 1,000 Miles
- Shop Through Mileage Plus Shopping: 400 Miles
- Complete Both Activities: 1,900 Miles

Glad to get a free 400 miles, doubt I'll book the required $550 minimum Premium Cabin flight.

I got 3 trips (min $200 each) for 3400 miles.

Slightly annoying that I have two possibly qualifying trips coming up (assuming work travel gets confirmed), but two more trips are already booked (and thus outside the qualifying range for this promotion).

Everyone is getting such interesting offers. Meanwhile I get "Check one bag online one time" for 250.

Book and take a trip from EWR (my home airport) for 3000 miles. Must be $200

This is my worst offer yet for one of these: 1 trip at $275 for 3,400 miles.

PsiFighter37 Mar 27, 2018 7:17 pm

Worst one so far: 3 premium trips for 7,200 miles. Each trip has to be $800/ticket. Yeah right...

rch4u Mar 27, 2018 7:38 pm

Mine was 5 premium cabin trips of at least $550 each for 29,000 bonus miles total. I'll pass!

1 trip for 8700 miles. Does a re-issue of an existing ticket count? I've just come back to UA from AA this year with a match and on AA a re-issue(Same day change, SWU clearing) would count for promotions as If booked fresh.

HNLbasedFlyer Mar 27, 2018 8:29 pm

I have to book and do 5 trips (at least $450 each) for 13,000 miles - not likely since my trips are booked until end of April.....

Zorak Mar 27, 2018 9:47 pm

2 trips in a premium cabin (min $1400 fare) for 97k miles.

Xerinax Mar 27, 2018 9:51 pm

5 roundtrips min fare $1000 each for 48K miles - no thank you!

Halo117 Mar 27, 2018 9:53 pm

My best offer ever. $0 for 0 miles. Now just have to wait 6-8 weeks. kidding....got the thanks for trying message.

Family member got the "pay for luggage" bonus of 200 miles along with 1,000 miles for $250 ticket.. He is a silver so already gets 1st bag free. Unsure why UA is barking up that tree about bonus miles for paid luggage.

So all family members registered at my address did not qualify, but other family members (not my address) qualified. Just trying to piece it what this latest round is trying to do.
