I too don't understand.....why many want to blame the FA/United for the passenger's lack of responsibility.
Please just refer back to my comment (#545) above, I don't feel like repeating it......and yes, you are all entitled to your perception or viewpoint.

Yeah, I'll remember that the next time someone "in charge" asks me to do something that would bring harm to me or mine; I'll just become some passive, mindless, robotic non-reactor and toss all common sense and my conscience to the wind. As well, by your logic, I can witness all sorts of inequity and just turn a blind eye and a deaf ear without any responsibility to help or get help. Thank you.

There are very few bridges of that type of commercial flights. And if there were, the danger of jumping off them would be pretty obvious.
I’m guessing they didn’t know it would harm the dog. The flight attendant knew or should have known.

I understand the rules. But i believe that a misunderstanding occurred. The FAA would never intentionally put a live animal in danger. I would politely remind them that its a live animal. The animal cannot talk. If we do not love/protect them, then no one else would.

The scene you're referring to was actually from the movie Airplane! The actor was William Tregoe. His character - Jack Kirkpatrick - was a parody of the conservative journalist Jack Kilpatrick. At the time, Kilpatrick was a regular on a 60 Minutes feature called "Point - Counterpoint" where he and a "liberal" journalist (most often Shana Alexander) stated opposing points-of-view on an issue of the day. That 60 Minutes piece was also often parodied on SNL.

Several have blamed the dog breed’s respiratory issues actually.

Then it's not whether the dog could breathe *properly*.. we wouldn't have this thread if the dog could breathe at all.
