Why doesn't UC WiFi remember me?

Is it just my issue, or does everyone have an issue where the wifi login at UC for members has a "remember me" checkbox. But it never remembers anything . . .and I have to enter my MP # and PW. Annoying.

?

It remembered me once

I'll take the poor memory in exchange for what are usually blazing fast speeds. This is one area where UA has really upgraded its product in recent years.

They swapped out a crappy Wi-Fi vendor last year for one that is.... not crappy. And also put in a crazy amount of density. Some of the clubs now have 15+ access points.

Good to know. I was planning to drop the WiFi plan. It was great on the SFO/TLV flight a week ago, but really poor on the return trip on a Sunday. I probably got a plane that has yet to get the upgrade.

We're talking about WiFi in the United Clubs... not on the plane... the onboard product is completely different. And supposedly ALSO getting upgrades this year, but the jury's still out.

No clue how their club networks are installed or setup, but I can give my guess.

1) There's a bug in their software
2) They literally never implemented that feature
3) They clear out the data in the table before you use it again
4) If you're talking between different cities, then it could be they don't have a central database of all users.

It had too much to drink?

j/k

The "Remember Me" feature allows the Wifi provider to place a cookie on your system so they have the option of recognizing your machine. I've found it generally does for short disconnects but it's entirely possible their routers have been programmed to clear their buffers every x hours either as a security measure or an efficiency measure (fewer "saved" machines to run through for recognition) or both.
