I fly UA on TPAC flights very frequently and they have these snack mixes on those flight.... so I was quite surprised last week when the FAs were handing these out during beverage service on a flight from Germany back to the US.(which doesn't cross the Pacific Ocean, I hope?)

Weren't they also part of the domestic service catering upgrade at one point?

No rule that says they can only serve "Asian" food on TPACs.

I presume that many EWR-Asia flights are catered in EWR (if not all), so it could be a simple mixup of the carts or they ran out of the standard snack for the route and had that one handy, so subbed it in on the TATL flight.

The short answer is that UA can’t manage themselves out of a paper sack.

Yep, from when they first rolled out complementary snacks in domestic economy. Stroopwafels in the morning and either Asian-style or Ranch snack mix the rest of the day.

And now enhanced to pretzels. I’m sorry, 5 pretzels is not a snack.

Strange! Who has ever heard of having something that isn't a stereotype of the place you are flying to?

I‘m holding out for this flight’s snack being a Nurnberg bratwurst with spicy mustard and one of those big soft salty pretzels. One can always dream.

The Asian-style mix is my favorite. I've missed it since we've been serving the pretzels.

What is inappropriate management about a global airline serving a global flavor?

Independent of whether the quantity is sufficient.

Comments like these are why UA and other airlines don't rely on these boards for input the way they used to, and have diminished our ability to have bigger concerns heard and understood.
