Got a present from United: free E+ then CPU'd after my status expired yesterday
Have been a mix of silver/gold over the last 6-7 years, so this came as a nice surprise.
Got one of the ultra cheap $270 AC RT fares to TLV 6 months ago and I'm flying tomorrow. First leg is IAH-YYZ tomorrow morning on UA. Was initially disappointed when I realized wouldn't have E+ at check-in since my status would have been expired by about 8 hours, but was pleasantly surprised when it let me choose it for free! 10 minutes later I look at the upgrade list to see if I was on it, and I had cleared.
