Mile Play promotion #2 -- targeted book/travel X trips by 11 March 2018, get Y miles

on my app I had an offer of 1 business class trip $1800 or more (United ticket and metal required) for 72,000 miles.

I noticed that last night. I've got 2 premium cabin trips >$550 until 3/11/18 for 28K miles.

venomtrilogy Jan 31, 2018 7:39 am

Agh. I booked something a couple days ago. Now I see this thread topped. What I booked is right in line with my offer.

Fly 4 trips of over $200.00 for 2400 miles. What a joke. I usually book one ways, I’m not sure if that counts as a “trip”

HNLbasedFlyer Jan 31, 2018 8:15 am

I just got book and take a trip 2 times by 3/11 for 2,500 miles. Not an incentive for me.

I had fly 4 premium cabin trips >$600 for 7,200 bonus miles. Nothing great.

Believe the rules define a “trip” as each unique PNR.

Sterndogg Jan 31, 2018 11:36 am

Just got the email: Book 1 trip in a premium cabin >$600 and receive $6,800 RDM. I also believe a "trip is a unique PNR - no mention of a R/T requirement.

One trip >$125 by 3/11 for 2,500
Not bad, I was thinking of going somewhere over President's Day weekend anyway

nevansm Jan 31, 2018 11:42 am

For the first time in about a year, I finally got a promo. And it’s not great. 3 premium cabin trips do 19k miles. Trips must be over $450. I’d meet this anyways so I guess something is better than nothing. But comparing to what others got, ugh.

Just received offer: "Take home up to 80,000 miles with Mile Play - Book and take a trip in a premium cabin ($2000 minimum) by March 11 and get 80,000 miles."

I have an $8499.36 ticket booked to India 2/13 to 2/23 but it does not qualify as "Only transactions initiated after registration and completed on or prior to March 11, 2018 will qualify toward satisfaction of the offer requirements." I then have a Qantas ticket to Australia on 2/27 returning 3/27. No chance to take advantage of this offer. Oh well, you win some and you lose some. Would have enjoyed those extra miles.

My offer:

Book and take a trip 2 times by March 11, 2018 to get 12,000 bonus award miles.
*Each purchased fare must be a minimum of $225 to qualify
Too bad I've already booked all my travel (every week) between now and March 11. *sigh*

StuckinITH Jan 31, 2018 12:08 pm

I did get that email today. But I got the loser's version of it. Get 2500 miles when I book a trip and travel before March 11. As it is, I'm taking a trip next week but, obviously, I bought the ticket weeks ago or the cost of the ticket would have given me anyways 2500 extra award miles.

windhund Jan 31, 2018 12:54 pm

Got another offer via the app today. Book a premium cabin trip (min. $750 fare) and get ~20k miles. Too bad I already booked my travel for the period specified!

I understand their intent might be to encourage you to book a trip that you might have otherwise not taken, but this can be just frustrating when you've already booked the travel: oh, I could have gotten these extra miles but won't. (Of course, close-in F/J bookings aren't often cheap anyway.)

Just got this offer today:

Book and take a trip 2 times by March 11, 2018 to get 21,000 bonus award miles.

I know I’ve got at least one trip coming up that I’ll need to book in the next week or so. Now I just need to figure out if it’s worth booking another one after that...21000 miles for >$400 ticket isn’t the best deal, but might still be worth it! I guess it works out to ~2cpm...

What do you people think? Worth it, or no?

Also, for those of you getting the offer via the app, where does the promotion show up? I don't see anything in the app specifically...

uastarflyer Jan 31, 2018 2:23 pm
