United showing fares roundtrip on united.com
Maybe I'm just blind/dumb, but I seem to see something different today. I'm poking around on united.com fares for craps and giggles because I was looking into their cancelled EWR-BHX flight and ended up on a "united flights from birmingham" page on united.com still (weird, right?). I ended up clicking one of the searches, then clicking advanced, changing the cities to a city pair I'm actually interested in, changed the billing address to US, and got this:
Is United.com showing roundtrip fares by default now (as do DL and AA) or is this some random fluke that I've found?
*edit again* - not sure why the image won't work but here's a link https://puu.sh/z5Axp/2a87fa2768.png

Am I just really weird or is this two things - a new feature for united.com and something people might actually like?
The app appears updated as well, saying the fares are for the "entire trip, per person" now, with a "Roundtrip" tag above the price. I'm just wondering why they made this change now with little or no announcement

A change I like
I like this change. I was getting tired of searching fares and seeing $100 on the first segment to be surprised by $1200 on the second segment since the first segment violat3d whatever nonsense fare rule for the second...

I usually booked RT on Int'l as they weren't the same as 2 one ways by a long shot, but the multi legs jacking up the price were horrendous, hopefully it will be easier to pick the "Correct" first leg now for a non shocking outcome

I was wondering why some flights I was looking at last night were more expensive then they were a few hours before. Thought it was just glitchy ua.com on a weekend.
Its odd, when I first started flying UA I didn't like the per segment pricing, but now I got used to it. Its annoying to have to go back to roundtrip price showing.

Maybe UA should bring back it's pre-merger display, which showed how various combinations would price. That was superior to anything they've had since.

Agreed, it was very useful to play with the combinations side by side without having to click 100 times. In many ways, the old pmUA website was much better than what we have today from a usability standpoint, modern design elements aside.
