Welcome to this thread to ask your basic, simple questions about United Airlines, its operations, or the MileagePlus program. We know that the airline is complex and we’ve created this thread for new and veteran members to ask those basic questions about United Airlines that you think must have an easy answer but just can’t find it or aren’t sure where to look.

Doubt it is any better now, but on my one and only visit there was NOT ONE seat available until some pax left to presumably to catch a flight, so I can see why they would try to keep people out.

Just arrived in ORD concourse C UC on F itinerary going to Canada (International, not polaris). When checking in, there was another fellow being denied access, but I believe he was originating ORD and on a UA flight. As a Platinum Elite, do I not have the ability to guest him?
Agent said I am entitled to a, but the guest must be travelling "with me". However I see no such stipulation on https://www.united.com/web/en-US/con...ge/access.aspx
Poor dude had a suiter and I think just wanted somewhere to sit and have a coffee...

Apologies if this has been covered elsewhere, but do Chase Ultimate Rewards bookings via the Chase portal (partial $ and partial points) earn United miles/PQDs, etc?
Thanks!
Thanks!

You are welcome. I have redeemed only ultimate reward points, no new funds, for a new ticket. It was treated like a new purchase with $. I had to cancel due to death in family and was able to reuse it for a new ticket, also treated as a new purchase with $. Only draw back is you have to contact Chase for everything until day of travel.

You should check after ticketing that it is not a BULK fare. Most reports are that Chase will give a normal ticket, but sometimes they resell bulk fares at market rate and keep the change. If the receipt shows an amount and PQD earnings, you're good to go -- otherwise you have 24hrs to void the ticket and reconsider.

You could look under "accruals for this trip", right? (Half-suggesting and half-asking-to-confirm )

In theory yes, but that display is accurate much less often than the earnings printed on the receipt (and neither is particularly reliable).

Quick question: If I fly LGA-DCA-CLE, would I get 1000 PQMs or just 525 PQMs for the whole trip?
United booking site says 525 PQMs. But the United earning guide says you are supposed to get 500 PQMs minimum for each flight, which should add up to 1000 PQMs.

If you have status of Premier Silver or higher, you will receive minimum 500 PQM per segment credit, but if you have no status the PQM credit will be flight distance.

Was this ticketed as a single flight number or as two separate flight numbers?

Just for reference, WineCountryUA was considering that if the flights were ticketed with a single flight number, it would likely (although not necessarily) credit as a single flight, and you would wind up earning based on the distance for LGA-CLE only (the intermediate stop location would not matter for PQM).
