I am flying EWR-BOM on Dec 26. The tool shows 52/60 booked in Polaris. I am Silver and waitlisted for an upgrade using GPU. Any chances of getting upgraded? OR should I be content with selecting E+ at check-in?

Upgrade chances IAD-LCY via FRA, DUB, ZRH or GVA

Looking at flying IAD-LCY in late March with options via FRA, DUB, GVA and ZRH, departing Monday and returning Friday. Looks like IAD-FRA in each direction is best option and will buy B class and upgrade with GPUs. Would do 2 connections but can't find any upgrade seats for the transatlantic portion, and with a B fare can switch to another routing if upgrades open up. Upgrade is available via DUB but don't prefer the late departure and short flight.

UA 989 IAD-FRA Monday, Mar. 25, 1815 departure on B777-200
J9 JN9 C9 D9 Z9 ZN9 P8 PN0 PZ0

UA 988 FRA-IAD Friday, Mar. 29, 1125 departure on B777-200
J9 JN9 C9 D9 Z3 ZN3 P0 PN0 PZ0

I looked for any route going from ORD to GVA for that Monday Mar. 25 and could not find any flights with PZ>0 from IAD or EWR, even with connections through FRA. But I did find PZ9 for the Tuesday March 26 on the ORD-FRA route.

Minimal chance of an upgrade.

1K travelling with wife on a Q class fare on PVG - EWR Jan 3. 38/50 biz already booked. using GPU. Told by agent there are a total of 8 1k's including me on the waitlist (including companions on same reservation) but wouldnt say where I was with in those 8.

If the above keeps getting worse, thinking of HKG - EWR on Jan 1 and skipping PVG all together. That looks a little better but not sure how many seats are still available to sell.

just an update to my earlier query, ogg-ord ua348 12/21/18 ended up going PZ7 about a week before depature and was pz1 even up until T24. my friend insisted he had to attend the work xmas party > biz class seat so ended up taking ogg-den which of course is full. crazy when i checked the flight status it looks like 5 nonrevs got in biz class. i feel like that is a rare sight but maybe all these new added frequencies are good for employees.

I'd hoped to get cleared today on my previously asked flight (UA 869 (SFO - HKG) on December 26). Any thoughts? It's a voluntary trip and I'm not feeling great so leaning towards canceling the trip if I'll be sitting in economy.

I think there's a very good chance it clears. Booked 43/60, P9 PN1.

Bookings have gone down since last time you asked.

I'm a 1K on UA48 EWR-BOM on 12/27. Applied GPUs for my wife and myself when I booked 8 months ago... seatmap showing 21 biz seats left, but I know that's not perfect. How should I feel?

I think you have a great chance of upgrade. As PN = 1, there are no solo GS travelers ahead of you.

Polaris Business is only sold 40/60. With numbers like that I usually get the upgrade a few days before the flight. Hopefully, it clears today.

UA 1742, ORD-SFO, 7:30 PM Departure
B777-200, Version 1, 48 business seats (8 GF / 40 BF)
Booked 25 of 48, with the seat map showing 4 of the 8 GF seats available
J9 JN9 C9 D9 Z9 ZN9 P9 PN4 PZ0
1K + Companion on V fares, waitlisted using RPU's

Chances of upgrade clearing? Chances of this frame being swapped out for one of the retrofitted 772's with Polaris seats?

The numbers are encouraging, but ORD-SFO is such a difficult route . . . I would keep my expectations low.

With 48F midweek, I'd say you have a fairly decent shot. Polaris swap is something like 50-50; it's whatever the current ratio of 772s is.

MCO-SFO, TUE in March, Ret. SUN

I've got a 12 day biz trip to SFO and haven't flown through there in 2 years. What are my odds for CPU on the non-stop on a 737-900?
UG being offered for $310-. Any advice on whether I should take it.
