Re-qualified for 1K on August 26
Route: IAH-SLP
PQM: 100,605
PQD: $23,343
PQS: 51
I have 1-3 possible trips for the remainder of the year, so it's unlikely I'll get to 125k PQM for the extra RPUs. I wasn't able to use my entire RPU/GPU allotment from qualifying for 1K last year, so it's no big deal.

I average about 100K BIS a year for the past 8 years on non-016 and non-UA *A flights. I could easily make 1k using my foreign address and just fly four segments of short-haul fights costing less than $300 in total PQD.
It is certainly doable for many oversea’s based M+ members.

PQM: 100,548
PQS: 50
PQD: $12,511
Squeezed in 1K for 2018. Had about 15k PQM in other flights not credited to UA. Not sure I'll hit $15k PQD in 2019 though.

UA-bookings:
- CPH - SAN: 14k PQM / 350 PQD
- AMS-KOA: 17.5k PQM / 608 PQD
- AMS-GRU: 19k PQM / 474 PQD
- TXL-SCL: 21k PQM / 531 PQD
- TXL-LAX: 14k PQM / 229 PQD
- LAX-CLT: 5k PQM / 382 PQD (quite expensive in comparison)
So cheap TATL + 2x South America did the trick for me. SCL was mostly a mileage run as I figured out Upgrade vouchers should be worth it for me.
2019 is going to be a bit more expensive at least, as I will have to buy-up from Basic Eco for each US-booking.

Thankful for Platinum 2018
Easily Qualified and Thankful for PLATINUM in 2018.
PQM: 116,277
PQD: $5,765
Chase spend waiver.
(nonprofit sector it's hard to reach 1K PQD; always economizing. 2 trips were *A non-016 tickets.)

With the end of the year 2018 threads still open, time to close this thread.
