UA919 turned back and cancelled

UA919 LHR-IAD, 9/23, turned back after 2h in flight because of “disruptive passenger.”

They first told us it was medical emergency and would be landing in Shannon. Then kept flying back and landed at LHR 4h after departure. Only after police went on board and we waited for 1h were we told to disembark, and heard rumors about disruptive passenger.

UA857 SFO-PVG delayed ~ 1:20 or so. We left the gate then stopped for like forever and Captain came online and said a leak was observed from the galley. Said some pilots were coming to inspect, then said we were going to gate for maintenance, after more waiting said the leak stopped, more waiting and we were off.

Do leaks stop, do they find root cause, comforting for a long flight, are we now dripping, LOL

UA180 HKG-EWR Cancelled.

First it was something faulty with one of the air conditioners (shutting off). We moved to a remote station where they fixed the issue, I think that was about 90 minutes or so... then something with the Control Tower, where they changed direction of takeoffs so we couldn't taxi to the runway. The pilots eventually timed out when we were on the runway taxiing for takeoff.

Rebooked as UA2820 on SEP 25th. They put us (business class, at least) at the Regal Hotel connected to HKG. Gave us some vouchers for dinner and breakfast.

new one for me: the app lists sunday's UA950 as having "overflew SNN". i asked a friend aboard the flight what happened; there was a passenger who fell ill over the atlantic. fortunately there were multiple medical professionals aboard, and they were apparently able to stabilize the passenger. the flight deck had announced that diverting was a possibility; fortunately they were able to continue to BRU.

pretty cool that UA is being this accurate and transparent nowadays.

Was in a similar situation and was to be put up at the Regal as well. Having almost an extra day in HKG I asked for accommoations in the city, but was flatly denied.

I wonder if it says the same thing if e.g. the Island Hopper or a tag has to skip a stop for e.g. weather?

It's been a few days, made it home. The final leg of my journey (EWR-TPA) mileage posted, but not the mileage for HKG-EWR. Also, I noticed something strange, I have an extra GPU in my account (I was on a GPU for the HKG-EWR flight). When 180 cancelled, and rebooked to 2820, do I not get the miles? I was given some compensation for the delay - Award Miles or E-Cert, I opted for the E-Cert, that is real money to buy any ticket.

UA871 SFO-TPE 773 currently 19hrs delayed due to aircraft maintenance.

This aircraft (N2135U) has been doing 3+ hour test hops SFO-SFO the last few days after receiving PE mod. I wonder what’s up.

Ouch. That's rather DL-like.

UA949, LHR-SFO, 7 Oct, delayed 2 hours 9 minutes. Originally delayed from 1220 to 1312 due to "crew not having sufficient rest", made up time en route and landed at 1604, but finally at gate at 1734 as the plane in our gate decided to have a mechanical so we could not get in.

Is this related to Fleet Week/Family Day?
