N788UA, the second 772 to get the Polaris retrofit, flew SFO-London Stansted on July 1. It’s scheduled to return to SFO on July 6. Any idea why UA would leave it at Stansted for a work week—one-off maintenance or something related to the fact that the Polaris seat designers and manufacturer are in the UK?

Zodiac UK does have a site at Braintree Essex, which is close to STN. But my understanding is that the seats are produced in Cwmbran, South Wales (closest airport CWL).

Not Maintenance.

One-off flight for some internal stuff, I don't really have details past that.

Maybe UA is looking at starting STN flights and going to sell their LHR slots

753:
N75853 - Scheduled to exit SFO on 8-Jul/1725. It did not get the slimline mod while it was in SFO.

772:
N794UA - Entry into XMN on 9-July/2763
N222UA - Confirmed exit from XMN. 896 shows that 6 people cleared into F so the odds are it is not a website fluke and the aircraft did not receive the mod as hoped.

I saw that too (N222UA still being IPTE). Does that mean we have to assume there’s only two Polaris mod lines at XMN, and that N794UA isn’t necessarily in for Polaris?

I think its reasonable to assume that there are only two Polaris mod lines at XMN but dont want to definitively conclude there are only two mod lines running until someone with inside information says there are only two mod lines going or we are able to go through another cycle of mods to reasonably conclude there are. The same appears to hold true for the 763 mods. Assuming the former Hawaiian 763s go to HKG for induction and are not done domestically we likely won't see a ferry flight for the first acquisition until one of the two units in HKG exits.

Suppose one could monitor tail numbers.

And no, I am not volunteering
