They were 2017 deliveries, currently undergoing induction at a vendor facility in Florida.

I don't think UAL anticipated the amount of work which would be necessary to get the ex-CZ birds to its maintenance standard.

How many A319's from China Southern were delivered in 2017 that are currently being worked on in Florida?

This article from October 31st says United was looking at 30-40 frames.

UA took delivery of 6 used 319s in 2017, but only 2 are in service. 2 used 320s were also delivered and both remain in induction at LCQ. So, 2018 will see 6 319/320 frames added to the line, but are not counted as 2018 deliveries since they were accepted during the 2017 calendar year.

Great news, thanks! Also, why is UA reducing the CR7's while increasing CR2's? I thought only the 76 seat RJ's had the cap on them where they couldn't add any more above 153 frames unless they added a small mainline aircraft. This might not be the place for this observation but I've been noticing more and more CR2's and E145's sneaking back onto routes to DEN and ORD from OMA in the last few months when it had finally gotten to the point where it was almost all mainline in fall of 2016 to both. Very weird and annoying they went directly from mainline to the 50-seaters for some flights vs going to an CR7/E170/E175. The 737-800 is too big for those routes but the A319 and 737-700 are perfect. As someone who flies a ton, the A319 and 737-700's were almost always full while when you see a 737-900/800 sneak onto those routes they are rarely full unless it is during peak season. I think an addition of 30-40 A319 would help fill a huge void and get routes that should be mainline, back to mainline and off of 50 and 70 seat RJ's.

UA is replacing the CR7s one for one with E-175s up to the current scope limit of 153 76-seaters (E75) and 102 70-seaters (38 E70/64 CR7). I think the last E75 is or will be on property soon.

The CR2s (50-seaters in general) are not scope-limited and UA can fly as many of these as it wants to. The Air Wisconsin contract is apparently quite flexible and can be drawn down at pretty short notice. United is trying to increase connectivity at its hubs and the CR2s will predominantly be used in short, less-competitive markets to bring higher-yielding pax to the hubsites for distribution around the network. Kirby is convinced that United's relative disadvantage in terms of hub quality to AA/DL is partially responsible for United's revenue and marginal underperformance.

My guess is part of the deal ensures Air Wisconsin will be the first in line to operate new large RJs if United is able to negotiate scope relief from the pilots.

Great to hear! I didn't realize the CR7's were scope limited as well. From another thread, all E-175's are on property now and but the very last one delivered in December hasn't started revenue flying yet.

The RJ scope limit is actually 255 70+ seater planes (of which no more than 153 can have 76 seats). The CR7’s were drawn down slowly to allow the scope to reach it’s max. The final E175 is on property and ready for service but cannot enter service until the last CR7 has been discharged from thefleet (in process now).

By the way, in this example ( N786UA ) does it remain sUA crewed after the Polaris mod?

No changes to cabin crew assignments based on the interior fit-outs.
Everything will be stable until the combined work assignment software is rolled out for the FAs.
