I can't keep up with the regional fleet status any more. Are these 63 CR2s net adds or are they replacing something that's being retired? I know they recently eliminated all/most of the turboprops but I thought they were all gone by now. 63 planes (even uncomfortable planes) is a lot of flight opportunities for cities that could really use additional frequency.

They are net adds. Regional capacity has been drawn down pretty aggressively over the past few years, which has been replaced (and then some) by mainline. Regional ASMs will now swing back to positive (while mainline continues to grow) with the additional CRJ flying, though not be very much considering the fact that they are smaller gauge over comparatively shorter routes.

UA 1175/13Feb, operated by N773UA had the right engine cowling break off midflight SFO-HNL. Landed safely in HNL about 20 minutes late. Track shows it dropped altitude about 60% of the way to HNL, then regainjed altitude. Unsure if the engine was shutd down, but regaining altitude may indicate the engine as still running. Aircraft had returned to the gate and last flight previous was a SFO arrival on 2/7/18. State unveils plan to build $1.1B concourse at Honolulu airport - Hawaii News Now - KGMB and KHNL

Any estimated RTS date?

When 763s started into Polaris mod, the first unit was in over 3 months until the second one entered HKG.
If the 772 is consistent, I wouldn't expect N785UA to be entering mod, but you never know. Also, it appears N785UA is doing a swap out with N221UA that was in for maint.
As for Polaris mod, UA just put 2 789s into service today, meaning there should be more slack than there was yesterday on the WB fleet.
That being said, there are 4 763s, 2 764s a 789 and 5 772s in maint right now not counting 3 Polaris mod units. This includes N773UA in HNL and 2 sCO 772s in maint.
3 more 77Ws arrive in 2Q 18, probably covering Summer flying.

replying to an instagram comment, the airport said it was there for refueling. it flew COS-BFI-ANC-DYR, so i would suspect this is a stop before it ends up somewhere like HKG for mx. interesting find!

Who would fly these legs? UAX pilots or Embraer? Seems highly unusual.
