Current R availability TPAC
Anyone notice any increased or decreased R availability on UA metal on any routes TPAC?....... I'm guessing USA- ICN and NRT still has good availability?.......
|
I haven't looked extremely recently, but for Fall 2017 it seemed like TPAC was the richest source of R space. Are you looking far out?
|
A little flexibility and there is R space pretty much everywhere TPAC except SIN.
|
Sfo to Tpe have R9 on most weekdays.

ICN isn't nearly as easy as it used to be since it's now a 789. I missed that one just last week on ICN-SFO that I had waitlisted 2 weeks out, both P and Z classes were wide open when I booked but R never opened once and it sold out before departure, think 2 people got day of departure upgrades. That was a Wednesday too which should be an easier day.
I'm most often looking at Tokyo, so for me it's been easiest to get IAD, ORD, and DEN - NRT. I've seen quite a bit of R availability on EWR-NRT recently too which is the 77W and new Polaris product. |
i'm looking to go to SIN and HKG or TPE in october. when should i be looking for R space? do i need to break out the segments to find space from LAX or SFO? starting in IAD. thanks.

My recent experience:
DEN-NRT ^ Anything-SIN :td: |

EWR-HKG is pretty easy, especially mid week SFO-TPE seems not too bad (Consider EVA - my experience the past 2 weeks was incredible and beats UA hands down in every single dimension) SIN - LOL - Yeah, you have a better shot at pigs flying (Unless you are a GS, and even then it is iffy) |

And SIN is close to hopeless. |
I used a GPU for NRT-SFO for Jan 21st. If you aren’t picky about routing and have some flexibility in dates it was easy to find R space. For me it was a bit more difficult but not too hard because I wanted to try Polaris on the new 777
|
Agreed, anywhere USA-SIN is nearly impossible non-stop; however, we just returned from LAX-ICN-SIN using OZ on both segments. There seemed to be quite a bit of ICN-SIN on OZ from which to choose. We went straight through but we could have stayed overnight at the ICN Hyatt and left the next morning for SIN.
|
I go to SIN regularly and its been very difficult to secure R space. 2 weeks ago, I had seen R space on LAX-SIN 8/29 and return 9/10 and 9/11 multiple R spaces.. But I waited too long and it was gone about 1 week later.

Would you take EVA Y over UA J?
UA has switched to the 777-300 for this route and it’s J is true Polaris. Why would you take economy over a nice lie flat with all aisle access |
