For debate: should UA put privacy screens on seatback monitors?

Something else I've noticed, especially in Y, since I'm a aisle person, the gap between the seats in front of me, generally provide a direct path view to most of the screen of the middle seat. The only time I find it really distracting is when we watch the same movie, but say 2-3 minutes off. I don't think any kind of privacy filter would block that path.

I have indeed watched many movies in the window reflection of the row in front of me. I'm not really sure if there's a great answer to that - I don't think you can reasonably screen it so that you won't be distracted. Some of the lie-flat J seats I've seen have some sort of polarization filter, which is nice.

I would actually say yes. Was on a AA LAX-HKG flight last week and after landing and during the process of deplaning a seat a few rows up from me was playing a very long sex scene. While personally I could care less, I would be pretty upset as a parent if my son was standing in the aisle waiting to deplane with this playing on. Personally let people watch what they want, but when you have pretty graphic content for all observers to see put a filter on it.

I think it's all about you want to look or ignore it. The screens at the back of seats are designed in the most convenient way for all travelers. You can put your headphones on and forcus only on your screen. Why does it so hard ?

Yeah, I do that too.
